This Not That Books is a literary organization based in Chicago.  Our mission is to create aesthetic conversations between readers, writers, and artists in Chicago and around the globe.  We take pride in publishing new and groundbreaking writers and books that take chances and go places you might not expect.  We are in this to create authentic art.

 

This Not That Books favors works that challenge dominant publishing models.  It is our stated objective to offer new ideas in publishing. These include works of poetry, prose, graphic art books and ekphrasis poetry based on artworks.  We circulate writing that imagines new artistic practices, establishes new theories of literature and questions the touted avant-garde.  We also endeavor to simply do good work.
